Healing from the Get Go: An Introduction to AEDP by Private Practice Colloquium, Inc.
Description:
Founded 20 years ago by Diana Fosha, Ph.D., Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) enjoys rapidly growing interest in the U.S. and internationally. AEDP is a non-pathologizing, attachment-emotion-and-transformation focused integrative treatment model. Recognizing the inherent capacity for healing present in each of us, AEDP sets about bringing that capacity online and to the foreground of experience from the get go.
Using the transformative power of affect, AEDP works to catalyze profound and lasting healing change. Through undoing of aloneness, the in-depth processing of difficult emotional and relational experiences, as well as deepening and installing new transformational experiences, the AEDP clinician fosters the emergence of new and healing experiences for the client, and with them bringing forward internal resources, resilience and a renewed zest for life.
Dr. Seidman will introduce core concepts and interventions in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, then use written case vignettes and video of an actual session to bring the practice to life. In addition to the theory and phenomenology of AEDP, among the skills Dr. Seidman will cover will be:
-How to use somatic-affective transformational markers to guide interventions
-Using experiential techniques to deepen core affective experience
-Dyadic affect regulation
-Experiential work with attachment experience
-Experiential work bringing stuck affect to adaptive completion through to a transformational shift
-The meta-processing of transformational experience to deepen and install positive new states
This is an introductory program for all mental health professionals
